Pottery and Profanity

In 2021, I conceptualized the dynamic fusion of Pottery and Profanity. This collection revolves around the juxtaposition of potent and striking words combined with delicate ceramic bowls, plates, cups, vases, and ashtrays.

Beauty in Beer Cans

This collection reimagines the disposable beer can as a lasting ceramic vessel, reflecting on American culture, waste, and domesticity. Drawing from historical traditions where ceramics mirrored daily life, these pieces explore themes like pollution, gender roles, and consumerism—asking us to reconsider what we throw away and what we choose to preserve.

Ladies Night Pool Balls

This piece is inspired by pool games I played during college, often with friends at dive bars. It was always surprising to the men around us when we weren’t "half bad." While working at a bar, I noticed how common the stereotype was—that women don’t know how to play pool—with comments like, "You’re pretty good for a girl."

I wanted to capture that demeaning dynamic through chipped glaze and distorted numbering, reflecting the way women are often underestimated or dismissed in traditionally male spaces.

Chained Clay

Chained Clay is a mixed-media pottery collection that seamlessly blends the organic form of clay with the dynamic presence of chain. The movement of the chains adds an interactive dimension to each piece, while the rich, jewel-toned glazes evoke the elegance and allure of fine jewelry, creating a unique fusion of art and craftsmanship.

Organically Chained

In this collection, I explore the raw beauty of clay, using subtle glazes and underglazes to complement its natural surface. By focusing on earthy tones and minimal finishes, each piece highlights the form, structure, and simplicity of the material itself.

Spiral

Spiral is a series exploring the use of pigmented powders applied during the throwing process to create dynamic, spiral-like patterns. Each piece features a simple vessel form designed to highlight the vibrant colors and movement within the surface design.
